Fuck BYU and Their Fucking Study on Profanity

Well fuck this.

According to a new BYU study, the… now wait just a minute. I’ve been tricked before. In the past, I’ve read the words “BYU study,” only to discover that it wasn’t a fucking scientific study as much as it was a published paper of ‘scientific findings’ that unwaveringly supported specific religious dogma of the LDS Church. But that’s rather judgmental and cynical of me. Why don’t we see what this fucking BYU study says, shall we?

“BYU Study: Hearing Profanity May Lead to More Aggressive Acts”

Shit. This makes me so fucking angry, that I feel like punching someone. Preferably a fucking missionary.

According to Sarah M. Coyne, a BYU assistant professor of family life and lead author of the study:

“It represents a lack of respect for parents or whoever you’re using it towards. It’s like a slippery slope. You start using it, and it becomes associated with other aggression”

Of course it does, Sarah. Of course it fucking does. I should point out, in BYU’s defense, that the article mentions “The findings . . . show a correlation, but not a cause and effect.”

Still, isn’t in interesting that BYU studies always seem to get the fucking results that support the LDS Church? Like, with every single fucking study? It’s almost as if all studies coming out of BYU must first be approved by the LDS Church’s fucking PR department before being released to the world.

Does anyone else ever wonder, like I do, if the secret underground vaults beneath fucking BYU are filled with hundreds of rejected studies that don’t support the religious dogma of the LDS Church?

For example, mainstream studies like:

Why doesn’t BYU ever release any of these studies?

And what about swearing? Have their ever been mainstream studies that show the benefits of filthy, filthy words?

Thanks BYU. I know your cute study was an attempt at using selective ‘evidence’ to convince us that the LDS Church has been right about everything all along, but I’d rather take my studies from mainstream, unbiased researchers who don’t have a religious agenda to push.

Oh, and fuck you.

Very distasteful and uneducated review. Its not just the LDS church that find profanity abrasive, distasteful and offensive. Any decent self-respecting person doesn’t use suck hate filled language. I think someone needs to grow up and work on a little self-control.
