In a newspaper column Mitt Romney had a staffer write – and then apparently only glanced at before approving – the potential GOP presidential candidate said Obama was currently leading “one of the biggest peacetime spending binges in American history.”
This wouldn’t be a problem since no one reads newspapers anymore (and geriatrics don’t count as people) but apparently some people [read "Democrats"] caught wind of it and thought they’d capitalize on the hair god forgetting the current wars the U.S. is fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya.
Now, to be fair, a lot of people (namely politicians who don’t want to seem like war-mongering assholes) don’t call these “wars” but instead call them “military initiatives” or “covert operations” or “freedom promotions.” But to use the word “peacetime” to describe the current state of the U.S. shows you’re under some sort of delusion.
Perhaps this is understandable; as a super-rich, white guy, Mitt likely hasn’t had a grasp on reality since his mother’s twat was lubricated with Beluga caviar and he was birthed onto a pile of money (literally and figuratively). He also thinks it’s still acceptable to use copious amounts of hair gel, so his finger may not be on the pulse of reality.
